Back in the mid-1970s when I first began to practice yoga, classes emphasized the contemplative aspects of yoga and were not designed as some kind of workout and ran for 105 minutes (1 hour 45 mins).
With the closing of Tucson Yoga, I have decided to invite students who may be more interested in the contemplative heart of yoga in joining me in ONLINE MINDFULNESS YOGA CLASS. With more and more classes running 60 - 75 mins, even the 90-min class I have been offering for over ten years was an anomaly, so I do not expect a huge number of students to be interested in a 105 minute practice, but that is what I am offering.
Classes are held online via Zoom. Payment will be through Zelle, Pay Pal, or check, and on a sliding fee scale (with no one turned away due to financial challenges) and there will be no pay-as-you-go drop ins. You can register for 5, 10, or 25 class ‘packs’ with no time expiration.
Classes run SUNDAYS from 9 - 10:45 AM TUCSON TIME.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT: Each practice will begin with a reading and short dharma talk/commentary introducing that week’s theme for practice. That is followed by asana practice (and other movement modalities will be integrated into the practice sequence) and a guaranteed 20 - 25 minute guided relaxation/yoga-nidra with practice then ending with a short (sometimes silent, sometimes guided) seated meditation. Time for discussion will also often be an option.
