SATURDAYS: June 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 July 6, 13 from 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM TUCSON TIME on ZOOM
The Buddha presented his fullest teaching on mindfulness in a discourse called satipatthana, most often translated as the "foundations" or "establishments of mindfulness" but which can also be understood as the four "domains" of human experience to which we bring our faculty of mindfulness. For those who only know mindfulness as presented in the contemporary Mindfulness Movement and the western therapeutic context, you will discover a depth of wisdom and breadth of practice beyond anything you have encountered.
With the fourth domain, the Buddha encourages us to mindfully investigate the dharma itself, making this particular domain a wonderful way to dive deeply into his teachings. No previous experience is necessary to join me in doing just that!
From June 1 through July 13 we will meet for 7 sessions, All sessions will be recorded so if you cannot make the live sessions, you can still participate!
In each of the first 6 sessions, we look into one specific dharma concept taught by the Buddha such as the 5 Hindrances, 5 Aggregates, the 4 Realities of the Noble and his Noble 8-fold Path. On the 7th session we meet to summarize the teachings and the practice and have an opportunity to say goodbye. Registration is now open, via Zelle or Pay Pal and, as always, the tuition is on a sliding fee and no one is turned away for lack of funds. If ever you wanted to klearn about the core doctrines of Buddha’s teaching and meditation instruction, this is a great opportunity to do so.
