November 17; December 1; 8; 15 from 11:00 AM - 12:15 PM Using stories, songs, drawing, and movement practices, children will have the opportunity to learn about and practice "meditations" for focusing attention, developing greater body awareness, deepening creativity and finding their "peaceful place".
Few notions could be further from the truth than that childhood is a relatively stress-free time compared with adult life. In fact, children experience love, joy, fear, disappointment and anger with an intensity they may never experience in adulthood. Meditation can be an important aid we provide our children for coping and even flourishing in their lives at both the personal and academic levels. Meditation can offer even young children a sense of empowerment in regard to their thinking and their emotions, not by repressive self-control, but by enhanced self-understanding and self-acceptance. All teachings and practices shared are secular and recommended for children ages 5-8. $60 by 11.5 | $70 after Space is limited. Pre-registration required. Go to link and Scroll Down. Parents may attend the Beginning Yoga class next door at the same time for $5. Comments are closed.
